Eminem: Interview and Samples from "Relapse"

I think this is really interesting, seeing where the beats for songs come from and checking out the originals when samples are used...here are 4 of the samples from Eminem's "Relapse," followed by an interview that Em did with one of his former biographers where he talks about "Relapse II" which he plans to release this year.

1) The Skinny Boys: Human Jock Box  (from "Insane")
2) Queen & Paul Rodgers: Reaching Out (from "Beautiful")
3) Walter Egan: Hot Summer Nights (from "We Made You")
4) Mike Brant: Mais Dans Ma Lumiere (from "Crack a Bottle")

"It was a relief for me to not worry about the beats and strictly focus on writing and what the hell I wanted to say. It took a lot of the stress off. But "Beautiful" is a different story. That song is the only one out of a whole batch of songs – probably three or four albums' worth of material – that I recorded in the time I was gone. I did all of that when I wasn't sober and that is literally the only song that's on this record. I don't know if any of the others are going to make it to Relapse II, which I plan to release later this year, because I haven't picked out those songs yet."

PASSION PIT: MANNERS

I've been sitting on this CD for a while and I finally had a chance to listen to the whole thing through on my 21 hour drive home from Atlanta.

Obviously, it's a big break from the usual hip-hop and R&B, even the techno, on the site.  I don't know exactly how to classify Passion Pit, it's like electrofunkpop that you listen to when you're happy.  The CD is awesome and it's great music for the summer, to drive around and listen to with your windows down.

The whole link seems to have been taken down from the entire internet so here are the best songs from the CD.

Red Cafe: General (feat. Maino)

Ohhhh yeahhh.

Madonna & Lil' Wayne: Revolver

Chiddy Bang Brooklyn Concert Review

Here's an interesting review of Chiddy Bang's performance a few nights ago in Park Slope, plus links to get their best songs.  Really wish I could have gone to this.

Mr. Hudson: Supernova (feat. Kanye West)

T.I.: Don't Forget Me (feat. Mary J. Blige)

T.I.: It's All Real

Kristinia DeBarge: Gotta Be Love

You have probably heard "Goodbye" on the radio or seen it on the iTunes Top 100, here's her new single "Gotta Be Love" and it's much better.

Ghostface Killah: She's a Killer (feat. Ron Browz)

Leighton Meester Sings

Apparently Leighton Meester from "Gossip Girl" has been recording an album that's due to release this fall.   Last year, she released the "Bette Davis Eyes" cover, and now she's back with these two new tracks with Cobra Starship and Awesome New Republic.

She's actually not too bad, (I really like Birthday): check her out below:

K-Young: Can't Find Luv

K-Young: Curious

I like this guy's voice, he's been "Featuring K-Young" on a bunch of songs recently but he does his own thing here with good results.  Plus, how cool is that picture from his MySpace.

Jhevon Paris: Top Of The Line (feat. Colby O'Donis)

Moonie: Shawty (feat. Jeremih)

Wiz Khalifa: Ode to Naked Pop Stars

Sorry about the delay today, but you know, it's Mother's Day, and the parents are here for graduation, so I have a lot of shit going on

Anyway here come the updates, the first is in honor of the Rihanna naked pics, Wiz Khalifa with a "cover" of Drake's "Best I Ever Had."
